Our history in UK

EIM’s London office was opened in London in 1988.  We introduced the concept of professional interim managment to the UK market.   We continue to be a leading service provider in a market that has grown beyond all recognition in terms of supply and demand.   EIM has held on to its core values and thus continues to differentiate itself in an overcrowded market that has become largely commoditised.

EIM acts as a principal, not as an agent.  We undertake to solve a client's needs, and we underwrite the outcome of the work.  We bring a disciplined approach to the management of corporate change.  We design and implement a rigorously costed project plan, with clear deliverables and contingencies, and we support it with a systematic monitoring and reporting process.  Our clients find this to be a different and better approach.  It's all about quality and reassurance.  In short, EIM brings significant added value to the assignments we undertake.

Just as in every EIM office around the world, EIM London is managed by people who have had senior management experience.  EIM London has managed about 400 assignments. We start about 30 new ones each year. On average each assignment lasts 6-9 months. Over the past five years, around half of our assignments have been for chief executives and/or finance directors. The rest cover all the other functional disciplines, usually operating at Board level.   Project or programme managers are much in demand.

EIM London works for large and small companies, national and international, quoted or private, service or manufacturing. We also do work in the public sector.  Private Equity houses are important clients - we get involved in deal support as well as business performance improvement work.  UK companies with overseas subsidiaries find it particularly attractive that we can find a local solution for their needs through our overseas offices.

Over the years, EIM London has built a team of tried and tested interim managers, many of whom have done several different assignments with us. For quality assurance reasons, we try to keep this team as small as possible. We also refresh the team and train new members in performance matters.
